Networking & Clustering

Under its communication and dissemination strategy, NATALIE aims to enhance its impact on regional strategies and support EU climate policies through strategic networking and clustering, maximizing project impact and fostering effective collaboration.

NATALIE is part of the following networks and clusters:

ICT4Water Cluster

ICT4Water Cluster

The ICT4Water cluster is a hub for EU-funded research and innovation projects on ICT applied to water management. Currently, around 40 projects are members of the cluster. These are both ongoing projects and projects that were members of the cluster before their completion. In the latter case, the ICT4Water site continues to display links to the projects’ webpages and to selected project outcomes (e.g. videos, IT tools open to the public). This permanent link between the cluster and the projects, even after their completion, helps showcasing project results and supports their dissemination and exploitation.

Watershare

Watershare is an international network of water utilities, research organisations and solution providers committed to sharing knowledge, expertise and resources. Members collaborate and implement innovations for a resilient water future and contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6). Watershare currently has 26 highly involved members, as well as 4 regional hubs, for local knowledge building and sharing.

MIP4Adapt

The Mission Implementation Platform (MIP4Adapt) supports European regional and local authorities to prepare and plan their adaptation pathways to climate resilience. For Charter Signatories, MIP4Adapt is facilitating a Community of Practice and delivering technical assistance to enable regions and local authorities to:  Use their existing climate vulnerability and risk assessments to develop climate adaptation plans and fund and implement climate adaptation solutions Identify appropriate climate adaptation demonstration projects and identify and access financial support for their implementation Stimulate engagement and mobilisation of citizens and stakeholders in inclusive approaches to climate adaptation.

NetworkNature

NetworkNature is a resource for the Nature-based Solutions (NbS) community, creating opportunities for local, regional and international cooperation to maximise the impact and spread of Nature-based Solutions. It will maintain and add to a diverse and science-based repository of evidence on NbS, strengthen partnerships and foster new relationships around a clear, strategic framework for action. This work is underpinned by an up-to-date EU Research and Innovation NbS Roadmap and NetworkNature’s six priority themes: Biodiversity enhancement and ecosystem restoration; Sustainable food systems; Zero Pollution; Climate adaptation, mitigation and resilience; Sustainable finance, investment and just transition; Sustainable urban and regional transformation.

NBS4EU Cluster of 7 sister projects

NBS4EU Cluster of 7 sister projects

The cluster is composed of the 7 projects funded under the same the Horizon Europe topic “HORIZON-MISS-2022-CLIMA-01-06: Testing and Demonstrating Transformative Solutions on Climate Resilience, Mainstreaming Nature-Based Solutions in the Systemic Transformation.” This effort is part of the broader European Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change. Nearly €140 million is allocated to seven projects, making it one of the largest investments under Horizon Europe, supporting European regions become climate resilient and prepared for extreme events. The 7 funded projects include: •ARCADIA: Transformative Climate Resilience by Nature-Based Solutions in the Continental Bio-Geographical Region •CARDIMED: Climate Adaptation and Resilience Demonstrated in the Mediterranean Region •DesirMED: Demonstration and Mainstreaming of Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Resilient Transformation in the Mediterranean •LAND4CLIMATE: Utilization of Private Land for Mainstreaming Nature-Based Solutions in the Systemic Transformation Towards a Climate-Resilient Europe •MountResilience: Accelerating Transformative Climate Adaptation for Higher Resilience in European Mountain Regions •NATALIE: Accelerating and Mainstreaming Transformative Nature-Based Solutions to Enhance Resilience to Climate Change for Diverse Bio-Geographical European Regions •NBRACER: Nature-Based Solutions for Atlantic Regional Climate Resilience Recognizing the diverse climate risks across different regions, each project focuses on specific biogeographical areas in Europe, developing localized solutions that address unique regional challenges. Enhancing Collaboration and Synergy The 7 sister projects engage around 70 regions and municipalities, advancing the Mission Climate’s goal of guiding 150 regions towards climate resilience by 2030. To amplify their impact, these projects initiate exchange activities, explore synergies, and identify opportunities for joint actions. Forming a coalition, these projects enhance their collective influence, achieving outcomes unattainable independently. This collaborative cluster fosters robust communication for sharing best practices, innovative ideas, and successful strategies. The Importance of Working Together Collaboration within the NBS4EU cluster highlights the importance of teamwork. Each project contributes unique strengths, enriching the collective effort. Sharing knowledge and resources helps tackle common challenges, advancing the EU’s sustainable and climate-resilient goals.
