Following the successful launch of the Transformation Labs (TLs) last year, NATALIE is moving into the 2nd phase of co-creation. As described in our previous article, the eight Transformation Labs (TLs) focus on climate change adaptation and mitigation through a co-creation approach. The process began with Phase 1- Diagnosis phase, where a diagnosis was made based on identified climate hazards and the challenges of addressing them, to identify potential co-creation actions that could be taken to tackle them. Diagnosis workshops were conducted, leading to the development of 8 co-creation action lists, one for each TL. Now, we are moving to Phase 2- Design & Visioning. In this phase, the co-creation ideas will be turned into actions that will be planned together with the stakeholders and a vision for the future of the most resilient area to climate change will be developed to set a framework for the previous actions. At this stage, the Demo Site DS2 Romania, Demo Site DS3 Latvia and the Demo Site DS4 Gran Canaria have already conducted their second co-creation workshop. Other Demonstration Sites are currently preparing their Phase 2 workshops, maintaining the collaborative momentum. Phase 2 is a bridge between vision and action. It will allow DS regions to actually start taking collective action to address climate hazards in their region having the NBS pilots from Natalie as an enabling environment.
