The new website is designed to welcome everyone, whether you're deeply involved in NATALIE or discovering the project for the very first time. Finding your way around has never been easier.

NATALIE has a lot to say, and now it says it better. Content is organised into cards, diagrams, and clear sections so you can browse, explore, and understand at a glance.

Every page now feels like part of the same story. A cohesive, consistent design that makes the whole experience smoother and more intuitive.
The result? A website that's clearer, more accessible, and built for everyone who wants to learn about NATALIE, wherever they're starting from.

📢 From #citizenscience initiatives already developed earlier this month to community-led actions, meaningful #societaltransformation is taking shape through our case study in #Bucharest.

Last weekend marked an important milestone. As part of the first edition of the biodiversity festival “Zi-le de Natură” (“Tell Them About Nature”), the organizers brought together local and national authorities, including Romania’s Minister of Environment,  alongside experts, civil society representatives, and engaged citizens.

This powerful exchange of ideas and knowledge is helping to elevate #Bucharest’s journey toward stronger community engagement and accelerating the development of urban Nature-Based Solutions( not only the one under development in #VacarestiNaturePark but also in other urban areas).

💧The 4th Joint WDSA/CCWI Conference 2026 @ Paphos, Cyprus joint conference is taking place! University of Exeter (Centre for Water Systems), KWR Water Research Institute and Matís Iceland will take the stage in a special session within the ICT4Water cluster, to showcase some selected projects.

📄 "An NBS Feasibility and Suitability Study, using MCDA-GIS, for the East Fjords of Iceland" with Jess Penny, Anna Berg Samúelsdóttir, Gareth Lewis, Albert Chen & Lydia Vamvakeridou-Lyroudia

This work applies a GIS-MCDA framework to map landslide susceptibility and assess Nature-Based Solutions for mitigating landslides and harmful algal blooms across Iceland's East Fjords: one of the first integrated NBS assessments in this Arctic context. 🏔️🌿

A second transversal paper, co-developed with Climate Impetus and InnWater, will also be presented on AI agents for the NBS Knowledge Base.

 🌡️ This study analyses the evolution of heat waves in the Canary Islands using historical data (1981- 2010) and regionalised climate projections up to 2100, at an 𝘂𝗻𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝟭𝟬𝟬 × 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗺.

💶Together with our partners from Global Infrastructure Basel Foundation (GIB), ICATALIST S.L and International Institute for Sustainable Development, we presented the latest advances of our NBS Investment Bundle Toolkit: a life-cycle framework combining three complementary tools to support the financing and scalability of Nature-based Solutions:
-NIL: Nature for Investment Launchramp (pre-feasibility assessment) 
-NABC: Natural Assurance Business Canvas (business case structuring) 
-SAVi: Sustainable Asset Valuation (integrated cost-benefit analysis)

💡We shared exciting results from two of our demo sites:
📍 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮: Exploring how to finance sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) at catchment scale, engaging the tourism and insurance sectors, and identifying the RIC tax scheme as a promising lever for private co-financing.
📍  𝗜𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 (𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗷𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀): Mapping the sustainable finance landscape to support the future implementation of NBS addressing algae blooms and landslides.
