โฐ๐ก It's starting today! During 1 week in Lyon (France), plenary lectures, interactive sessions, specialized workshops, and technical tours will take place to exchange knowledge and facilitate a cross-disciplinary approach.
๐ Novatech is an international conference on strategies and solutions for sustainable urban water management, with a focus on urban stormwater. It aims to bring together different approaches and encourage dialogue between all stakeholders on new knowledge, thinking, and innovations.
๐ฑ Our partner from CS#4 will present the case study of Gran Canaria, with a focus on the SuDS systems (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems).

โฐIn May, work to remove the ponds has begun at the three sites managed by the Parc naturel rรฉgional de Millevaches en Limousin.
๐The first stage involved draining the ponds. Rescue operations for fish and amphibians were carried out. Temporary settling ponds were also created to prevent pollution of the watercourse.
โ๏ธOver the summer, the sediments will dry out and vegetation will begin to grow back.
๐In September, the second stage of the work will be carried out, involving the removal of the dike and the restoration of the watercourse. The site will also be restored (removal of the settling ponds, restoration of access points, etc.).

๐ฅOur partner CANARAGUA in Spain, participated in the VII Canary Islands Conference on Circular Economy. The event gathered key regional actors to discuss environmental taxation and economic tools for the ecological transition.
๐ฑThe aim of the intervention was to explore innovative financing mechanisms to accelerate the implementation of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for climate change adaptation. Participants included regional decision-makers, tax advisors, university experts, and private sector representatives.

๐งLet's take a look back at the effect of drought on the waterways of DS#6. Although it is not visible in the photos, these ponds are built by damming two streams.
๐ขThe first photo shows the site in 2024, before the summer period.
๐ขThe second photo shows the state of the site in September 2025, after a summer of drought.
๐ฑThis is why, in such cases, the restoration of streams by removing the ponds is recommended, in order to promote the resilience of the environment in the face of climate change.
